Pavers trap moss, weeds and black mould in the joints and across the surface, especially in shaded and damp spots. We clean the pavers evenly and flush out the gaps so the whole area looks sharp again.
Sandstone, concrete, clay and travertine pavers each need a slightly different touch, which we adjust on site.
Around the Northern Beaches, pavers sit under trees and beside gardens, which means leaf-tannin marks on the surface, moss creeping through the joints and black mould in every shaded corner. Clay and concrete pavers are porous, so the growth roots in rather than sitting on top, and that is why scrubbing never quite works.

On the area, the paver type and the condition. A large courtyard in heavy shade is a different job to a small sunny path, so we quote each one individually rather than guessing. The quote is free, there is no obligation, and the price includes everything, with nothing added on the day.
Yes. Travertine is soft and porous, so it needs lower pressure and more care than concrete pavers, and that is exactly how we treat it. We adjust the method for travertine, limestone and other natural stone so the surface is cleaned without etching or pitting. If in doubt, we test a small area first.
Most paved areas look good for 12 to 18 months. Damp, shaded courtyards and anything under trees regrow faster, sunny open areas last longer. Because we kill the moss and mould rather than just stripping the surface, the joints stay cleaner for longer too.
We treat it first. Moss and mould rooted in paver joints grow straight back if they are only blasted off the top. Our pre-treatment kills the growth down in the joint before we clean, which is the difference between a result that lasts a season and one that lasts over a year.
A typical courtyard or paved entertaining area takes two to four hours depending on size and how heavy the growth is. Larger areas or pool surrounds can take longer. We include a realistic timeframe with your free quote so you know exactly what to expect on the day.
Move cars off paved driveways and clear away furniture, pots and loose items if you can. We are happy to shift light furniture ourselves and put it back afterwards. We wet down surrounding gardens before starting and rinse them when we finish, so the plants are looked after.
In almost every case, yes, and the difference surprises people. The dull grey-green layer is growth and grime sitting in the surface, not the paver fading. Once it is treated and cleaned away, the original clay, sandstone or concrete colour shows through again. Genuine fading from decades of sun cannot be reversed by cleaning, and we will tell you if we see it.
