Window Cleaning in St Ives

Pristine Standard provides window cleaning for homes and businesses across St Ives 2075 and the surrounding Gordon, Pymble, Terrey Hills area. St Ives is a leafy, bush-fringed North Shore suburb where heavy tree litter and shade bring mould and lichen to driveways, paths and rendered walls. We are local, owner-operated and fully insured.

Spring hits St Ives glass hard, wattle pollen first, then the fine dust of a dry summer drifting off the Chase, and by winter the low sun exposes every filmed pane. Big garden-facing windows and high entry glass are standard on homes here. We clean it all seasonally for St Ives regulars and on demand for everyone else.

A full inside-and-out clean is the complete job. We clean the glass on both sides, plus the frames, tracks and sills, to a streak-free finish, and use water-fed poles to safely reach upper-storey windows from the ground.

Cleaning both sides at once is the best way to genuinely transform how light comes into the home. It is one of our most-requested services, with the reviews to match.

Northern Beaches windows collect more than fingerprints. Bush dust and pollen film over the glass, spiders web up the corners of frames, and sprinklers and dirty run-off leave spotting that ordinary cleaning smears around. Once the grime is on the tracks and sills as well, the whole window looks tired even when the glass is wiped.

We use pure water and traditional techniques where each works best, so every pane comes up properly. The difference in light through professionally cleaned glass genuinely surprises people. We check every window with you before we leave and re-do anything that is not perfect.

Good to know

Window Cleaning FAQs

Can you reach high windows safely?

Yes. We use water-fed pole systems to clean upper-storey windows from the ground, which is safe and gives a spotless, streak-free result.

How much is window cleaning?

Window cleaning is priced on the number and type of windows, so we confirm the price with a free, no-obligation quote.

How often should windows be cleaned?

For a consistently clear view, most homes have their windows cleaned every 3 to 6 months. Homes near bushland, busy roads or building work collect dust and grime faster and benefit from more frequent cleans. Many clients set up a regular schedule.

What is included in a full window clean?

Both sides of every pane, plus the frames, sills and tracks, and we brush down screens as we go. It is a complete window detail rather than a quick wipe of the glass. Skylights, louvres and glass doors are included where you want them. You point out what matters and we make sure nothing is missed.

Do I need to remove my flyscreens first?

No, leave them to us. We remove screens where needed, brush and wipe them down, clean the glass and tracks behind them, and refit them properly. If a screen is fragile or painted in, we work around it carefully and let you know rather than forcing it.

How long does window cleaning take?

A typical home takes two to four hours for a full inside-and-out clean, depending on the number of windows, the state of the tracks and how accessible everything is. Exterior-only cleans are quicker. We give you a solid estimate with your free quote so you can plan the day.

Can you clean windows in the rain?

Light rain is not the problem people assume. Pure-water cleaned glass dries clean, and rainwater itself is relatively pure, so a shower rarely undoes fresh work. In persistent heavy rain we cannot do our best work, so we would contact you and rebook the next clear day at no charge.

Do you use squeegees or a pure water system?

Both, depending on the glass. Water-fed poles with purified water are ideal for exterior and high glass, drying spot free without detergents. Traditional squeegee work gives the best finish on interior glass and detailed panes. Using each where it belongs is how every window ends up streak free.

Do I need to be home for the clean?

For inside-and-out cleaning, yes, we need access to the interior, or an arranged way in. For exterior-only work you can leave us to it as long as gates are unlocked and we can reach a tap. Many customers are home for the first clean and hands-off after that.

Is professional window cleaning worth it?

For most people, yes. Getting both sides of the glass, plus the frames, sills and tracks properly clean is slow, awkward work from a ladder, and the upper-storey and fixed windows are hard to reach safely at all. We do the lot from the ground with water-fed poles for a streak-free finish, screens and tracks included, in a fraction of the time. Clean glass genuinely changes how bright and open the rooms feel.

Do you remove hard water stains?

Often, yes, though it depends on how long they have been there. Hard water spotting from sprinklers and run-off can usually be lifted while it is still sitting on the surface. Once the minerals have etched into the glass over a long time the marks can be permanent, and we are honest about that up front rather than promising a result we cannot get. We will always tell you what we can improve before we start.

Is there a worst season for window grime in St Ives?

Spring, without question. Wattle and eucalypt pollen coat St Ives glass in a yellow-green film within weeks, especially on homes near reserves. Many locals book a clean for late spring once the heaviest release passes, then again heading into winter when low sun makes any film obvious. Two well-timed cleans a year suit this suburb better than four random ones.
