Pressure cleaning uses high pressure for hard surfaces like concrete. Soft washing uses low pressure and a cleaning solution for delicate surfaces like render and cladding. We use whichever suits the surface.

Because it treats the mould and algae rather than just rinsing it, results typically last longer than high pressure alone. Shaded and bush-facing walls will eventually regrow and can be re-done.

Render, painted walls, weatherboard, fibre cement cladding and older or delicate masonry. High pressure on these surfaces chips render, strips paint and forces water in behind cladding, and that damage cannot be undone. Yes, handled properly. We wet down plants and lawns before applying anything, keep the mix on the wall where it belongs, and rinse the gardens again once we are finished. That routine is built into every job. If you have something especially delicate below a wall, show us and we will cover or shield it.

On the job itself: the wall area, the height, the surface type and how heavy the growth is. Every quote is free and no obligation, and the price we give is the price you pay, with no extras added on the day. We are happy to quote from photos for straightforward jobs or come and look in person.

Less time than most people expect. The mix does much of the work, so a typical home is done in a few hours, and even larger jobs rarely run past a day. A good chunk of that time is dwell time, letting the mix break down the mould before we rinse. We confirm the timing when we quote.

Yes, that is its speciality. Black spot mould grows into the surface texture of render, and no amount of scrubbing or pressure shifts it properly. The soft wash mix breaks it down chemically so it rinses away, and because the spores are dead, it takes much longer to reappear.

Close windows and doors, bring in washing and anything hanging near the walls, and keep pets inside while we work. That is about it. We move light items away from the walls ourselves, wet down and rinse the gardens, and leave everything back where we found it.

Light rain is usually fine, since the surfaces are wet during the process anyway. Heavy rain dilutes the mix before it can do its work, so if a downpour is forecast we will call you and move the booking to the next suitable day at no charge.

Soft washing uses low pressure and a cleaning solution instead, so it lifts the mould and grime gently and leaves the surface intact. We assess every surface on site and use the gentlest method that will do the job.

It comes back much slower after a proper soft wash, because we treat the growth itself rather than just rinsing the surface. Blasting mould with plain high pressure leaves the spores rooted and it regrows within months. Treated correctly, most Curl Curl walls stay clean for one to two years, longer on the sunny sides.
