We have cleaned plenty of older walls, pillars and steps across the Northern Beaches. If a piece of stone is too fragile to clean safely, we will say so rather than risk it.

Yes, managed properly. Sandstone almost always sits right in the garden, so we wet down the surrounding plants first, apply the treatment to the stone only, and rinse the greenery thoroughly afterwards. Ferns and delicate plants hard up against the stone can be covered while we work.
